Foyle to Sligo

Neither Peter (mate) nor I have sailed this coast before, but looking at the Irish Cruising Guide it looks beautiful.  It’s about 120NM from Foyle to Sligo which gives us plenty of time to visit the sights,  if not the sites….ha!

Outline plan is to travel to Foyle on Saturday for those who are not on the previous leg from Mallaig to Foyle.  We will need to provision and prepare BB so will probably spend Saturday evening in Foyle, explore the Foyle on Sunday and hop round to Loch Swilly on Monday.  Tuesday through Thursday we should be able to find some anchorages, arriving in Sligo in good time to tidy up BB and travel on home Saturday 3/9.  I have always found the Irish welcome exceptional and we are likely to be hosting guests so bring your BB t-shirts to complete the fantastic impression we leave behind!
